Monthly Celebrations and Black Womanhood

Each year and throughout the United States, February is observed as National Black History Month. The end of Black History Month is a great segue into March Women's History Month. Women's History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. This monthly occasion is a great opportunity to explore various intersections, communities and identities. Throughout March, Your Favorite Librarian will provide book lists highlighting Graphic Novels, Children's & YA Literature, and LGBTQ+ Literature celebrating Women's History Month. Utilize Women's History Month to explore womanhood, Black Feminism and Femininity, the female-presenting community, non-binary and Black Femme, Lesbian and bisexual, and other beautiful identities and communities.
